Spottedpelt

Chapter 1

I was wandering around in a forest. I missed my old home, Thunderclan. One of my best friends was Fireheart. I got caught by the Twolegs with Graystripe. We were walking through a forest. It was full moon. A gathering would be being held right now. I looked towards the lake. There was an island in it and a tree that connected it and the shore. The moonlight seemed to shine to it. That would be a place that they might hold a gathering.

“Graystripe, let’s check on that island.” I said.

“Okay.” He nodded and we padded to the marshy shore. I leaped onto the tree. I unsheathed my claws. I gripped the tree with my claws and slowly made my way across. I leaped down on the marshy shore. I waited for Graystripe, and then we padded through the bracken. We came out to a clearing with many cats gathered under a tree. There were four cats on four branches. I recognized one of the shapes as Fireheart. I smiled at Graystripe. The cats nearest to us turned and hissed at us. We crouched down under the stares.

“Wait!” Fireheart called. He leaped down from the branch and dashed through the cats, a dark tabby followed him. He burst through two cats that smelled of Windclan.

“You’re okay. The Twolegs didn’t kill you. Thank Starclan.” He said, wide eyed.

“They’re back!” Brambleclaw, who was following Fireheart, yowled. All of the warriors swarmed around us. They poked and prodded us with their noses. I staggered sideways and fell onto Graystripe, who supported me.

“Back off, they’re tired.” A cat came up and glanced sternly at the warriors and apprentices that were clustered around us.

“Firestar, we should get them home.” The cat said. She was probably the medicine cat.

“Let’s show them to their new home.” Firestar called to the warriors.

“Can you make it farther?” Graystripe asked me quietly.

“Yes.” I said back. We continued on. I walked beside Firestar.

“How is the clan?” I asked.

“They’re good. How did you find us?” Firestar asked.

“Let’s wait until the whole clan can hear.” I said. Firestar nodded.

“What was the gathering like?” A black shape called. I’m guessing it was an apprentice.

“You should be in bed, Hollypaw.” Firestar called.

“We would do the same thing if we were apprentices.” I reminded him, my whiskers twitching in amusement.

“Who are you guys?” Hollypaw asked.

“We were warriors long before you were born.” I said.

“You’re Spottedpelt and Graystripe aren’t you!?” Hollypaw squealed.

“Yes.” Graystripe answered.

“Brakenfur, Brakenfur!” Hollypaw called.

“What?” He asked urgently.

“Spottedpelt and Graystripe are back.” She called. The warriors all swarmed around us.

“How did you find us?” Cloudtail called out.

I settled down and tucked my paws under me. Graystripe did the same. The warriors all crouched down to hear.

“We checked the old home first. It was ravaged; no cat could have survived there. The great rock wasn’t there anymore. We walked past Ravenpaw’s and Barley’s barn. They said that you went towards the mountains. We went to the mountains and stayed with the tribe of rushing water. We then came to the lake and saw you.” We said.
