MXD

Chapter 1(Edward’s POV)

“Alright, let’s try out just a small set, Edward.” Emmet said seriously. “You don’t wanna put too much stress on yourself.” He reminded me. My thoughts flashed back to the accident.

“Ok.” I nodded and revved the engine of my dirt bike, smiling at the sound of the new engine that Jasper and Emmet had put in for me. I threw my helmet on and sped to the track. Suddenly, I heard an odd pinging noise I stopped my bike, then realized it wasn’t from my bike.

“Shit!” I heard a girl scream. I glanced over at Jasper and Emmet before getting off my bike. I put the kickstand out and hung my helmet on the handle bars. Emmet, Jasper and I walked towards the sound. There was a girl next to a dark blue bike. She was grasping her hair, groaning.

“You okay?” Jasper called. She spun around with a squeak of surprise, her hand flying to her mouth.

“No.” She muttered angrily. “You guys mechanics?” she asked him. He nodded. She sighed. “Looks like I’ve hit a bit of luck on this wonderful day.” She said sarcastically. “Could you possibly help me please?” She asked.

“Yeah sure. What’s wrong?” Jasper asked as Emmet went to get the jeep with all of their mechanic stuff.

“My bike has just been acting up a lot lately.” She shrugged, kicking the tire lightly. Emmet pulled up and hopped out. They set their stuff up as well as the over hang thing to block the sun. I sat in a picnic chair under it as they did their thing.

“I’m Edward.” I said conversationally. She shook my outstretched hand, smiling.

“Bella. Bella Swan!” She chirped. I dropped her hand in shock, looking at her with wide eyes. I heard a clank. Emmet and Jasper were also staring at her in shock.

“You’re like, an MX legend!” Emmet exclaimed, bounding up to her with his wrench clenched tightly in his hand. She giggled. “The first ever girl to win the X games! Not to mention the fact that you won the gold medal at the MXD!” He exclaimed. She shrugged.

“I do what I love to do and I get criticized and teased for it.” She said. Suddenly, her phone started ringing. “Hello?” she asked. I heard a frantic voice on the other end.

“Rose, calm down! I’m just at the tracks.” She said. The voice became louder and she winced. “It was one slip up, Rose. I’m not going to let it stop me!” She exclaimed, walking a few feet away. “No, I’m not alone!” She exclaimed, rolling her eyes at us. We chuckled. “I’m with friends, Rose. You guys are such nosies! I’m hanging up now!” She exclaimed, hanging up.
